Welcome
to Timara Lodge, one of New Zealand's most luxurious and private
Lodges. Located near the rural township of Blenheim in the province
of Marlborough, Timara Lodge is set amongst 600 acres of land, including
25 acres of one of New Zealand's most beautiful gardens.
The gardens include sweeping lawns, fully mature - some more
than a century old - native and exotic trees, a five acre, man-made
lake and an extensive and immaculately kept English style garden
which abounds with native bird life.
Timara Lodge's accommodation facilities ensure you enjoy your stay
in privacy and comfort. With just two twin bedrooms and two double
bedrooms, there are never more than eight people staying at any
one time.
Adjoining the gardens are 350 acres of Marlborough's finest Sauvignon
Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes.
The Marlborough region is known around the world for its wines and
gourmet foods. Most of the wineries are just a short distance from
Timara Lodge and offer wine tasting and sell their wares from the
cellar door. In addition, the region offers a number of other activities
and attractions including golf at the nearby Fairhall Golf Course,
cruising the magnificent Marlborough Sounds and fly-fishing at one
of the many local rivers.
From the minute you arrive at Timara Lodge and see it's surrounding
splendour, you know you're in for something special.
The
accommodation at Timara Lodge comprise two twin bedrooms and two
double bedrooms, ensuring that there are never more than eight
people staying at any one time.
Each bedroom is completely private and has its own en suite bathroom,
as well as spectacular views of the grounds. Every care has been
taken with the furnishings to instil a sense of utter luxury,
right down to the softest Italian linen.
All our air-conditioned bedrooms are fully-serviced and non-smoking,
and have en suite bathrooms equipped with hair dryer, shaver plug
and heated towel rails. Bath towels, soap, shampoo, hair conditioner,
etc. are provided and extra swimming towels are available if required.
Pre-dinner drinks, four course table d'hote dinner with wine,
breakfast and Blenheim airport transfers.
THE
GARDEN ROOM
Of all the Timara Lodge's rooms, the Garden Room has the most
panoramic of all the views and a charm which is enhanced by the
bay window which is the focus of the room.
Located at the front of the Lodge, the Garden Room enjoys views
of the tennis court, swimming pool, the gardens and the lake.
The room is furnished with a queen-size bed, a writing table with
chair at the bay window and an antique Scotch chest. William Morris
patterned wallpaper with a delicate floral motif adds a touch
of charm to the room.
THE LAKE ROOM
As the name suggests, the Lake Room overlooks the Lodge's private
man-made lake.
Located at the corner of the house, the room is decorated in aqua-striped
wallpaper with accents of pink.
The Lake Room is the largest of all the rooms and has an English
feel about it. Furnished with a Regency chest of drawers, a Victorian
dressing table and chair, and a large wardrobe, the room can be
made up with either a king-size bed or twin beds.
THE BALCONY ROOM
Once used as an open verandah, this room has many windows, giving
the room a particularly generous and spacious feel. Located at
the front of the house, the room captures the sun throughout the
day.
The room can be made up with either a king-size bed or twin beds.
Decorated in off-white with hints of subdued green and rose, the
Balcony Room offers expansive views of the tennis court, swimming
pool and gardens, and has side views of the lake and private park.
THE MOUNTAIN ROOM
Although the bedroom itself is the smallest of all the four rooms,
it is often preferred for its seclusion and privacy as it has
its own little entrance hall. Often referred to as the honeymoon
suite, the Mountain Room is located on the western side
of the house. The room has recently been enlarged with the installation
of a romantic bay window overlooking the private parkland with
the Richmond Ranges in the distance. Capturing the afternoon sun,
the room has a queen-size bed.
