CLOSED AS OF SEPTEMBER 3, 2009

With huge sadness and regret Irina and Nico Francken have today announced that their beloved Corstorphine House will cease trading as of Thursday 3rd September, 2009.

The effects of the current global recession have created a dramatic downturn in the high end accommodation sector thus making it most difficult to sustain a property of this type.

The low volume demands of the domestic market together with the uncertainties within international tourism make the continuation of the business untenable.

Unfortunately, Nico Francken's health has deteriorated considerably over the past eight months and this has had an inevitable effect on his ability to contribute to the running of Corstorphine House into the future.

The management is leaving all 12 members of Corstorphine House staff and local suppliers fully paid for their respective services and supplies.
